Counseling
Falls City School District SEL Program
Over the past years Falls City School District has recognized the need to support our students beyond traditional academic support. This is why we felt it was important to create a strong Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) program.
That said, we have a district-wide (Pre-K-12) school counselor who has taken on some developing roles! At the elementary school you will find Mrs. L preparing to carry out fun SEL curriculum in the classrooms, helping students resolve conflicts and running small groups with topics like friendship building. When she is at the high school you might see her assisting in the career/success classes or meeting with students for things like helping connect them to resources or future planning. Wherever you may find her, talk to her about any concerns you might have (academically, socially, emotionally), or just say "hi!".
What and who is this SEL Squad?
We believe that students have the ability to learn social, emotional and behavioral skills that will help them be stronger students and well-rounded individuals. Both our school counselor and the Reset Room will work together to provide students with a safe environment to build those skills.
Best,
SEL Squad
