We would like to give a big shout-out and heartfelt thank you to Nathan Kempfer, a proud former student of Falls City, for his incredible support of our school community.
Through a partnership with Amazon, Nathan generously donated 60 backpacks for our students here at Falls City. His generosity ensures that many of our students are starting the year with the supplies they need to be successful.
We are so grateful for alumni like Nathan who continue to give back and make a difference for future generations of Falls City students. Thank you, Nathan, for your kindness and support—it truly means the world to our school! 💙🐾

Dear Parents and Guardians,
We want to inform you of an instructional change for our middle school students. Beginning this year, the 6th grade blend and the 7th/8th grade students will receive their Science and English Language Arts instruction on the Falls City High School campus.
Students will only be on the high school campus in two-hour blocks, and transportation will be provided by bus. All middle school students will continue to eat lunch at the elementary school.
This adjustment is intended to provide students with access to additional instructional resources and staff support. Students will continue to be part of our elementary/middle school community while attending these classes at the high school.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we work to provide the best learning environment for all students.
Sincerely,
Mickel Kidd

Friendly Reminder for Families Transferring from Another District
If your child is transferring to Falls City from another school district, please remember to start the transfer process again with your home district for the 2025–2026 school year.
Transfers need to be approved by both your home district and Falls City before we can finalize enrollment. This step is required each school year—even if your child has transferred before.
Not sure which school district your home address is in? You can find out by using https://www.greatschools.org/school-district-boundaries-map/.
Thank you for helping us ensure a smooth start to the new school year!

Play Synapsis: Two Timelines. One Life-Altering Choice. It's 2020, and Hannah's senior year—the one she'd dreamed about—is stolen by the chaos of Covid. But when she’s offered an impossible opportunity to rewrite history—a literal deal with the devil—she faces a moment of truth. Will she reclaim the year she lost, or will she discover that some sacrifices shape us in ways we never imagined?
A gripping story of fate, consequence, and the choices that define us. What would you risk to change the past?

At Falls City School District, there’s nothing we cherish more than watching our students grow—and few stories capture that journey quite like Amber Houghtaling’s.
Amber first walked through the doors of Falls City as a preschooler in 2008, a bright-eyed Mountaineer ready to learn. From those early days all the way through her high school graduation, Amber’s roots only grew deeper. But her story didn’t end there.
Driven by a passion to give back, Amber returned to her hometown school not just as a proud alum, but as a student teacher while earning her degree in Elementary Education at Western Oregon University. She came full circle—teaching in the very classrooms where she once learned to read, write, and dream big.
This is what it means to be homegrown. This is what it means to be a Mountaineer.
As Amber steps into her teaching career, we couldn’t be prouder. We know she’ll inspire the next generation of future teachers, engineers, doctors, nurses, welders, mechanics, and dreamers who walk the halls of Falls City Elementary. Her story reminds us that our small-town roots grow big futures.
Once a Mountaineer, always a Mountaineer.

Another former graduate stopped by today for a visit and a tour. Sharon Anderson, a scholarship winner from the class of 1963, stopped by with her daughter and granddaughter. It was a pleasure showing them around.
