Dear Parents and Families,
As we prepare for the 2026–2027 school year, we are excited to continue building strong learning opportunities for all students in our district. Our staff remains committed to creating safe, welcoming schools where every student can grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
During the upcoming school year, the district will continue operating in two school buildings. This structure allows us to make the best use of our facilities while supporting students at each grade level in an environment designed to meet their needs. I will be assuming the role of Superintendent and elementary school principal and moving my office to the elementary school. Stephanie McEwen will assume the roles of high school principal, special education director, and high school special education teacher. This move will allow us to hire a new special education teacher to support the elementary school. Our grade configurations for the 2026–2027 school year will remain the same. Elementary and Middle School students (K-8) will continue learning together in one building, while secondary students will attend the other building. Keeping these grade-level groups together helps us provide age-appropriate instruction, activities, and support systems that encourage student success.
At this time, the base model is projected to look like this:
K – Dani Schneider
1–2 – Whitney Francis
3–4 – Lynnell Van Patten
5–6 – Roxi Barnhart
7–8 – Lynn Bailey
Support Staff- Bryan Walton, Melodie Farnham, Isabelle Michelini
High School Staff
Jason Evans – Math
Jonathan Ellingson – ELA/SS
Dean Munkers – PE/Health
Nikkole Duitsman – Science
Support staff- Jennifer Flores, Vanessa Rangel
We are proud of the progress our students and staff continue to make, and we appreciate the partnership we share with our families. Your support plays an important role in helping our schools remain positive places for learning and growth.
As we move into the new school year, we look forward to continuing traditions, celebrating achievements, and creating new opportunities for students across our district. Together, we will continue working to provide the best possible educational experience for every child.
Thank you for your continued support of our schools and community. We are excited for another great year ahead.
Sincerely,
Mickel Kidd

There will be no study table today.
I hope you all have a wonderful, restful, and enjoyable Spring Break, and we look forward to seeing everyone back soon!

High school semester finals will be held on Wednesday, January 28, and Thursday, January 29. All class periods will follow the regular bell schedule on both days. Students who are not passing by the end of the semester will receive an In Progress grade. They will have two weeks to make up the work and have the In Progress changed to a passing grade. If the work is not made up within the two-week period the grade will become an F.
ATTENTION:
Monday, January 19th, is a holiday and there will be no school. Friday, January 23rd, is a teacher green day and is also not a school day.

Our alumnus shared, “Those fleeting few years were very formative for me. The leadership, confidence, and grit the football program instilled in me were transformative during a critical stage of my development.”
Thank you for your generosity and continued support. We are always grateful when our alumni give back and share the impactful stories that highlight the lasting influence of our programs.
Thank you, Vanessa, for going above and beyond in service to our students. This grant will support special education students by providing meaningful, real-world learning experiences through transitional skills and career readiness field trips. These experiences will allow students to practice essential life skills—such as budgeting, communication, problem-solving, and workplace etiquette—in authentic settings beyond the classroom. Through these field trips, students will be able to connect academic learning with practical application, helping prepare them for success in everyday life.

ATTENTION: Falls City Schools will be dismissing at 2:00 p.m. due to weather related issues. All extra curricular evening activities including FACES is cancelled for the day. The bus will pick up elementary students at 2:00 p.m., then head to the high school shortly after.
